Limitations of Accessing Our Website
Diversity Practitioners Association are aware of limitations of this website platform of Squarespace. We also recognise aspects of our content is currently not as accessible as it could be.
Diversity Practitioners Association and are working towards improvements to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA regarding:
Visual design - background images for sections that are used only for visual formatting do not have alternative text provided. Squarespace is meant to apply a null tag automatically to these, however in using alt text inspectors, these backgrounds appear as lacking alt text and title descriptions
Assets – adding and updating new images and accessible documents to replace old inaccessible assets, including transcriptions for video content
Semantic HTML - multiple H1 header tags on blog and event pages that can appear as disorganised content to screen readers. These are set by Squarespace’s blog and event templates, and do not affect content reading from search engines and screenreading technology, however in using tag inspectors, the overuse of H1 tags will appear as an issue
User testing – comprehensive feedback and user experience with assistive technologies users is to be conducted for further accessibility auditing
Web Content Accessibility Assistance

Because of this, and the above limitations outlined for accessing our website, there may be further possibility that accessibility issues may be encountered.
